Dr Raluca Csernatoni is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Lecturer with the Institute of Political Studies (IPS) at Charles University in Prague. Her postdoctoral research concentrates on the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) of the European Union (EU) – Technology and Capacity, laying emphasis on emerging dual-use technologies and the development of cutting-edge military capabilities in Europe. She completed her PhD with the distinction Cum Laude with the Doctoral School of Political Science, Public Policy and International Relations at Central European University (CEU) in Budapest. She was a visiting researcher with the program Sécurité, paix, et conflits at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). Dr Csernatoni was awarded a research fellowship with the Study Programme on European Security (SPES) with the Institut für Europäische Politik (IEP) in Berlin, during which she also lectured at the Master program of Military Studies at Potsdam University. She has recently worked at the Royal Higher Institute for Defence (RHID) and its Centre for Security and Defence Studies (CSDS) in Brussels and she was a research officer with the Brussels-based think tank, the International Security Information Service - Europe. Dr Csernatoni also lectured on the CSDP in Action: CSDP Missions and Operations, as part of the European Security and Defence College’s (ESDC) Advanced Courses for Political Advisors in EU Missions and Operations.
