Zachary Kramer, M.A.

Zack Kramer is a 3rd-year PhD candidate in International Relations in Charles University's Faculty of Social Sciences. His general research interest is the political economy of the former Soviet Union and Central and Eastern Europe. His dissertation research involves Ukraine's changing foreign trade situation after the outbreak of conflict with Russia in 2014, with a focus on explaining the variation in foreign trade dynamics across different sectors of the economy. Zack is a teaching and research assistant in the International Relations department, currently teaching the MA seminar "Approaches to Modern Conflict". He is also a Research Fellow in Prague Security Studies Institute's Economic and Financial Threats Program. He is a recipient of PSSI's Oldřich Černy PhD scholarship, and a GAUK grant for field research in Ukraine over the course of his studies. Zack holds an MA in Eastern European Studies from the University of Bologna, an MA in International Relations from Central European University, and a BBA in Finance from the University of Cincinnati.
