Tomáš Halamka specialises in political theory and history of political thought. His main research interest is republican political theory, especially its conceptual history, the integration of so-called “neo-Roman” and “neo-Athenian” strands of republicanism and its study through Michael Freeden’s “morphological approach” to ideologies. Tomáš is also interested in various approaches to textual interpretation in political thought and edited a collective monograph on this topic. He has previously conducted long-term research visits at Queen Mary, University of London (CSHPT), University of Oxford (DPIR), Princeton University (UCHV) and King’s College London (DPE).
