The Faculty of Social Sciences contributes significantly to the overall international mobility of Charles University not only due to the number of its students. International mobility is also of crucial importance for the Institute of Political Studies of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University. IPS FSV UK therefore strongly supports study and research trips abroad. In principle, this is an optional but highly recommended and desirable part of the IPS graduate portfolio.

International mobility at the Faculty and the Institute is primarily based on the European Higher Education Area coordinated by the Bologna Process and expressed through the Erasmus+ programme.

In addition to this programme, mobility at IPS FSV UK also takes place within the framework of smaller programmes such as CEEPUS or AKTION, as well as within the framework of inter-faculty, inter-university and inter-state agreements.

The IPS FSV UK extends its international cooperation beyond the European area through partnerships with institutions in North America, Asia and the Middle East.

Further international cooperation is developed through individual research grants as well as through visiting professors' courses, seminars, workshops and conferences held annually at IPS FSV UK.

The Institute of Political Studies of FSV UK is a member of both leading political science organisations, the International Political Science Association (IPSA) and the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR).
