Estonian Foreign Ministry honours people’s diplomacy

On 26 November, Estonian Citizen’s Day, the Foreign Ministry awarded letters of appreciation to people and civic organizations who have championed Estonia around the world.

“Endeavours taking place outside of Estonia have always had a major part to play in furthering the Estonian cause. We’re glad to see that there is such a great number of industrious passionate people for whom advancing Estonian language and culture in the country of their location is a labour of love – so that our culture would be loved, our language appreciated, our mindset understood,” said Foreign Minister Sven Mikser. “I thank and recognise all who have done their part. I am particularly pleased to recognise citizen diplomats this year when we also celebrate the 100th anniversary of Estonian diplomacy,” he added.
