On the occasion of the 678th anniversary of the founding of Charles University, Charles University Rector Jiří Zima honored personalities who have contributed to the spread of the university’s good name or who have achieved extraordinary creative initiatives. The ceremony took place on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 in the Great Hall of Karolinum. The Bedřich Hrozný Prize for Creative Initiative was awarded to Associate Professor Hana Kubátová from the Institute of Political Studies FSV UK for her publication Christian Nationalism, Nation-Building, and the Making of the Holocaust in Slovakia.

Today, the Dean of FSV UK, Tomáš Karásek, personally welcomed Professor Kennan Ferguson from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the United States. Prof. Ferguson will be working at the Institute of Political Studies, for the next five months as part of the Fulbright Distinguished Scholar program.

Applications are open for Geopolitical Summer School “Europe in Troubled Times”. The summer school takes place on 22 – 26 June 2026 in the Jinonice Campus and is aimed at a diverse international audience, including students from Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD programs. Participants earn 4 ECTS credits upon completing the program.
